Privacy policy

Effective 2026-09-01

This policy explains what TJC FIRE AND ELECTRICAL LIMITED does with your personal information, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read rather than to cover us, so if anything here is unclear, tell us and we will fix the wording.

Who we are

TJC FIRE AND ELECTRICAL LIMITED is the data controller for the information described here — meaning we decide what is collected and why, and we are responsible for it.

  • Registered company number: 12070417
  • Address: 42 Ameysford Road, Ferndown, England, BH22 9QA
  • Email: info@tjcelectrical.co.uk
  • Phone: 01202 985 655

What we collect, and why

When you make an enquiry

If you fill in a form or use the chat assistant, we receive what you type — typically your name, email address, phone number, the address or postcode of the work, and your description of the job.

We use it to reply to you and to quote for the work. Our lawful basis is that you have asked us to take steps before entering a contract; where an enquiry does not lead to work, our basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

Alongside your enquiry we record how you first reached the site — for example a search engine, an advert, or a link from another website — so we can tell which of our advertising is worth continuing. This never includes your name or contact details, and it is recorded whether or not you accepted cookies, because it is worked out from the visit itself rather than stored on your device. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding which marketing works.

When you simply browse

If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics tells us how many people visit and which pages they read. If you decline, or ignore the banner, we still receive a count of visits from Cloudflare that identifies nobody and stores nothing on your device.

Our cookie policy lists every cookie and every other thing stored in your browser, and what each one does.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use these companies to run the business, and they may only act on our instructions:

CompanyWhat they do for usWhere
CloudflareServes this website and protects it from attack.Servers worldwide, including the UK.
SupabaseStores enquiries in the database behind our enquiry system.European Union.
ResendDelivers the email that notifies us of a new enquiry.United States.
Google AnalyticsCounts visits, if you accept analytics cookies.United States.

Some of these are based outside the UK. Where that is so, the transfer is covered by the UK's approved safeguards — either a country the UK has ruled adequate, or the standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum.

We may also share information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

How long we keep it

We keep an enquiry only for as long as we need it — to reply to you, to quote for the work, and for any follow-up you would reasonably expect. Once it is no longer needed for that, we delete it. Where work goes ahead, records connected to that job are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires — currently six years — and for as long as any guarantee on the work is still running. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.

Analytics data is held by Google in an aggregated form and is not linked to your enquiry.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete it, where we have no continuing reason to keep it;
  • stop or limit what we do with it;
  • send it to you, or to someone else, in a portable format;
  • stop processing based on legitimate interests, where your circumstances give you grounds to object.

Email info@tjcelectrical.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Keeping it safe

Enquiries travel over an encrypted connection and are stored in a database that only we and our platform provider can reach, behind individual logins. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever put your rights at risk we would tell both the ICO and you.

Children

This site is meant for adults arranging work on a property. We do not knowingly collect information about children. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and the effective date above.
